Happiness goes where happiness is

In any given workplace, we cannot doubt the importance of high productivity and high

performing employees to maintain smooth operation processes. However, at what expense do we place the importance of work over a happy employee? How do we even measure the results of a happy employee in comparison to someone who cannot wait for Fridays?

You are holding a good position, you perform well at what you do, you are not complaining

about your given tasks, so why should we complicate things by trying to seek happiness? Well, we think happiness is an element where we will not only be fulfilled with merely surviving day by day but living in the moment and for the future.

Employees are a company’s greatest asset and the backbone of every company big or small.

Their happiness plays a vital role which can clearly be observed in many aspects. A happy employee has dedication towards their career and the company as they have a higher sense of ownership towards their tasks and will always fulfill their responsibilities. A happy employee has a sense of loyalty and will want to stay long term with their company to show their appreciation. A happy employee will be in a better state of health, both physically, psychologically and emotionally. A positive mind will lead to a healthy spirit and a healthier body.

A happy employee creates and contributes to a positive work culture which is supportive,

proactive and strong for all other employees with an underlying sense of trust. Lastly, a happy employee will bring out their innovative and creative side. In a positive environment, they will be inspired to think out of the box for creative solutions and ideas.

As an employee in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, there are several ways to

achieve more happiness and satisfaction within one’s self. Always give your best shot in

whatever you do, which leaves little room for worries and doubt. Author Og Mandino once

wrote, “Always do your best. What you plant now you will harvest later.” Be sure to always

make time to explore your passions and hobbies to lead a well-balanced life. When work seems to get hectic or overwhelming, don’t forget to take things one day at a time. Take a step back and prioritize your tasks and you’ll be on your way. It is also important to be forgiving with yourself or others when things do not seem to be going your way. Be aware of the situation, focus on the things you can control and strive on how to improve the situation. For people who strive for success, we all have our designated tasks and responsibilities and we know it takes hard work and dedication to reach the peak, therefore quit the complaints and get your hands dirty every once in a while.

In a nutshell, we all want to achieve happiness and be as productive as we can be within our

scope regardless if it’s in the office or not as it provides us with a great sense of fulfillment. It is important to have a positive mindset as our thoughts are the working gears towards our

perspective of life and how we continue to live it. Work is a part of life for the majority of us

and we should be our authentic selves in hopes that it will bring out the best of us and in turn for the company.
